Alfred L. Polczynski

	Mr. Alfred L. Polczynski rural Nashville, departed this life at the Washington County Hospital of Nashville on Saturday, April 13, 2002 at 12:40 a.m. after a sudden illness. He had attained the age of 77 years, 5 months, and 26 days.
Mr. Polczynski was born at Du Bois on October 17, 1924 the son of Jacob and Mary (Picnic) Polczynski. He was united in marriage to Marie E. Klumpe at Dunnington, Indiana on August 25, 1951 and she preceded him in death on January 5, 1993.
Alfred was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Army. He was a retired farmer and was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4384 of Nashville and enjoyed fishing and dancing.
Left to mourn his passing are three daughters, Jean Stanton and husband Mark and Wanda Rodely and husband Eugene, all of Du Quoin, and Eileen Spenner and husband Alan of Hoyleton; a son, Larry Polczynski and wife Lori of Nashville; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marie Polczynski, an infant son, Phillip, five brothers, Ed, Alex, Dominic, Joseph, and Leonard Polczynski and a sister, Rosie Gross.
Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill on Tuesday, April 16 at 10 a.m. with Fr. James VanOss officiating with interment in the church cemetery.
Friends called at the Campagna Funeral Home of Nashville on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
A Vigil Prayer service was held Monday at 8 p.m. at the Campagna Funeral Home.
Should friends desire, Mass offerings or memorial contributions to the Veteran Medical Center at Marion may be made.
